And I haven't posted since March. This was my Pink for June I did. Now supposed to be working on Christmas in July. I really enjoyed doing the background of this one it is torn magazine pages of various shades of pink. At the bottom I overlayed a transparency of Think over top of the PINK Below.

The hearts are really pink in really life. I added a pink for the cure ribbon with a pink brad.

This one was done for my bird one for May. I want to get going today with my one for Christmas in July. The end of the month sneaks up on you before you know it.

Wednesday Shopping Trip

I found the cutest things at The Quilting patch. This is Walla Walla Kitty. If I get going on this I would like to do the whole bunch. These are the Garden Patch Cats so far Avocato, Boscat, Kitt’ney Bean, Walla Walla(Sweet Onion)Kitty, Pumpkat, Stalker by Helene Knott Approximately 18” square $8.50 each US

This one too was really sweet so I have some projects on the sewing front to do. I love the pic of the sewing machine.

They also had some Laurel Burch fat quarters I scooped them up and looked at the lovely new line but it had a ssssnake so didn't want it. I found Yo Yo makers there by Clover. I got a small and large heart and a large flower maker. I have yet to use the ones I got from my good friend AZ/OR. I hope to do some of them when I am outside this summer either at the patio table or the gazebo.

Lazy Girl blog has a picture perfect tut on how to use the Yo Yo Maker I just went there and printed off the instructions for making a Yo Yo. If you put Yo Yo Maker in a search engine you should find lots of stuff for making things with it. to.

Kitchen & Home crafts of Family Corner has patterns and all kinds of angels and poems to go with them.Two Christmas's ago I made Red Hat Yo Yo angels for each member in the chapters I belong too. Here they are massive amounts of them lol

I have the background and have chosen the main element and have a fortune from a fortune cookie to place. I found a neat strip of beige flowers on black for another element but I thought it needed a spark so I cut a thin strip from a red paper and have it. It is starting to come together. I have another one for a younger member to work on next and hopefully it goes well.

Thanks so much to my swap partner for the Teds. They are really cute and I love the star slightly hanging off nice touch. I love the cool green background the one with the two tone brown Teddy. Is that the Cuttle?? bug technique. Something to think about getting me thinks.

Thanks also to my purple swap partner I love your purple with the lady playing the violin with the gold note and the neat printed background.

Both of these swaps were fun to do but the purple took lots of time to gel.

I have mailed out the ATC purple to my swap just in time. I made purple people eater for all those in the purple swap. No he is not animated except for his eye that is a google eye...lol I feel like I have done a great task.....I am getting very old here....lol I have come to dislike purple.....it plays tricks on you looks beautiful and plummy on the screen but printed off takes on an indigo cast....humph..... I am not even going to say I am sorry about being late I have done 4 attempts and finally came up with something okay. I started early as well. I don't really dislike purple just what happens to it in the printing process. I'm a red hatter and we wear purple togs and sometimes it looks like we are all wearing Royal Blue....go figure. grrrrrrrrr This is my Boa Babe for my Swap Partner.

Teds are ready to be sent

We were doing teddies this moth and I found the sweetest teddie in my collage fodder so went with them applied a distressed in to the some cardstock glue image down and then added The Teds get ready for Christmas then a bow to the package a package on foam tab and a teddie on a drum sticker and a teddie on another foam tab. Then I put a marker Santa hat to one added a tiny pom pom and a white sliver of paper to make it look like white fur. This one once I got going fell into place.

She also made these to separate Inchies with paper doily pieces worked into the mix. They are just so sweet. I love her work

ATC and Inchies

I had made backgrounds on white card and black paper these fishe Inchies are done on that I used a gel marker for the 'waves's theses may be used along with with these inchie sunglasses on ATC and such. I haven't figured that out yet.
I received from my AZ/OR friend the stamps on the inchies on these ATC the background was another of the twinkling H20's. I applied the inchies along with some embellishment stamp in the background of an iris a lady bug and a butterfly. It is really to bad tha you can't sew the simmer on the background they look so pretty.

I found out about the Blue Bible on Susan Lenz blog Art in stitches. It is totally amazing and a loving tribute to the Ladies who sang the blues. There are links to some of the layouts she created. She will be installing it at Pickens County Museum on Friday, June 13. If I was headed down south I definitely would go and see it. Susan's installation will be on display ............

Some Inchies I did and Tulips

These are the cute 'Daisies' I received from my friend in AZ who is now escaping triple digits there and summering in OR. They were in a line and I separated them and added brads for the centers. I will have to think of what to do with them after making them. I want to keep them together but using them as an element in a larger piece of are would be nice too. I also did another kitties inchie with Japanese paper and a sticker. They look so sweet. They will be going into my kitties book I have. It's funny but I thought the white part of the background was too white. So I cut the corner off following the curve and move the white done to show a black stripe. I really like the way it turned out.

I love these the last of the tulips. I hope to try a watercolour of them. Tulips are one of my favourite subjects to paint. That red line is so dramatic against the yellow. The irises are coming out now and the clematis as well. Have to take a few photos of those

This is my ATC I did for a swap in my yahoo group. It was on children. It started with me finding in my fodder for collage a little pic of two kids on a swing. I used that the back of an embellishment package. It was tea stained looking and had writing on it. I cut it out and sanded it so it would take the in and glue things better and rounded the corners and daubed a stamp pad around the edges to give it a distressed look. The hear is a button and I put gold stars on it just for fun. The bus and the slate abc board came from the top of package of rub ons. It cam together nicely. I hope the gal in WI likes it.
My friend who lives in Mesa AZ in the winter and Sisters OR in the summer made this pretty card for me thanking me for the RAK I sent herShe also doodled this card called hand in friendship. Both very nice indeed. I loved the note you can't really see it but the flowers are 3D and the butterflies are embossed. I think these stamps on the envie will be showing up on an inchies soon. Not bad work for some one who had to go to hospital again because she was ill again. Feeling better though.

How to Stamp with a Large Stamp

Worked on inches and asked a question of some of my group and got all kinds of answers. Stand on it......Honest was one reply. She was serious and 2 others replied with that answer. The question was how do you get a good even stamp with a large rubber stamp. Well I didn't stand on it but I did put it on a magazine and put a book over top of the stamp stood up put both hands on it and got a good impression. I also used Stazon ink pad the click is only one of many places to purchase it. I also applied embossing powder and heat gun to raise the impression and since I was using chalk I could remove it from the embossed raised areas with a soft brush and q tip.

I also found out you can remove soft chalk marks with a vinyl erasure. So I had a great inchie session with all the stuff around me. I am really liking the arrangement of my supplies. I must find something to put in the little things. Other than a bit of TV that's about it for the day but that was enough for me.

I will be cutting this up and put each of them on a background. I also would like to make some serendipity squares but in this case the idea is to cover a larger piece of card stock with randon glued on papers a overlapping and going over the edge and then turn paper on the back line up a grid of 1" x1" squares mount on card stock and embellish. I would Google this and see for your self.

My Favourite things and kitty cats

I found this lonely sticker and it started me thinking about my love of kitty cats. So I pulled out some Japanese paper and created this inchie. It is amazing what one can do with just smidges of paper. I love this sticker and now it has a home

In this cute kitty cat notebook with black pages I will be adding more kitty cat inchies as time goes on. One side has lines and the other is blank. Where I have put the first inchie.

I have a punch of a purse on the left here and was going to make purses by punching them out and assembling them. I realized right away that doing the negative instead of the positive it would be easier. I have used some paper I bought years ago and some the gals in our groups have sent me as a RAKS. Do you recognize the floral paper my Fred and Ginger friend and Cindy can you see yours too. I will be doing more of these purses

and put them in this book called My Favourite Things.

I was busily tidying yesterday and today my art and crafting desk. I got it mostly finished and now I can do my Act's and Inchies much easier and even clean up it faster because I have now mostly a place for everything and everything in it's place. Now if I could only get the crawl space done the same way it would be better all round. I am now for some reason able to discard things. This Hello Kitty is for the scan using elements of a doily. Here Hello Kitty has a bouquet of hearts in a doily basket.

This is just a stamped kitty and fish on an Inchie of my watercolour backgrounds

This one is on an plain Inchie background with a scalloped edge one on top Kitty and fish stamped and coloured in since the edge of the cat ended up on the white I coloured it. I am having great fun with all my old and new toys I have. New are an inch square stamp and the scalloped edge stamp and a 6" by pass trimmer and a gingko leaf punch. I have gathered all my small stamps, stickers and embellishments for my ATC's an inchies. I have put in order my pencils, pens and scissors and all the inks, paint and finishing so I can create in a not clutter free but an organized chaos. Here is an ATC's using the scalloped edge punch, ginkgo punch and plain paper on top with the underneath background painted in Twinkling H20's looks kinda cool I think. The cool thing about that product it is shiny. I love working with it

This kitty in the square is punch out frame and backed with one of my watercolour backgrounds. I have also used a one of my Fiskars edging scissors to make a decorative edging and used the cutout and a metallic marker to colour it and apply it. The last one for today was Twinkling H20's background with gel 3d pens using my new decorative edging ruler to make scallops. Then applying a plant tag with a yellow cascading petunia called a Million Bells the kind of sunlight it need and a small sun stamped and coloured in with markers. So I had a very good day

Along with a mini stash of lovelies for inchies, a couple of pics for art of Scotties, an angel with a cutie doggie and some lovely card stock. I must go tell her I received and how great they are.

Today I had a run to Michaels I bought out the store so hubby thinks. I did buy a cool thing a Friskar guillotine 4"x 6" format to cut my ATC's and Inchies up. We have already tried it and pronouce it a good thing. It cuts very nicely. I have cool shades of perfect inchies for me and to send in a nice little package along with ATC swaps. This is the one I hopefully be sending tomorrow to my partner. I feel like I have spring in my heart now and feel like creating. So will be toddling off to get my packaging up done to send things off.

I am having fun doing this that and the other what with floral crafts and real gardening in containers soon, my art etc. I bought some silk flowers to make topiaries. We were gluing silk flowers to clay pots at our craft meeting yesterday and I thought a nice topiary ball of silk flowers would look nice it it on a cinnamon stick. While at Michaels bought some pretty silk flowers for a teapot topiary.There is a really nice one at the STYROFOAM* Brand Products: site Teatime Topiary. I have some other ideas for doing a Topiary. Will show them when I have them finished.

I have been busily working on ATC's, Inchies and the inchies ended up on bookmarks. I have more to show you later. After I have mailed them out. I have added embellisments and funky fibres.

found some of my watercolour backgrounds have been making them into inchies. I also cut up the folder that came with Fred and Ginger box set to do a theme set of inchies or two. I have to investigate my fonts for helps with inchies too. I found a couple of tuts on inchies and read them. They are going to be my eyecandy for the summer. I suggest googling inchies for all kinds of inspirations. Hope to get everything finished tomorrow for swaps.

A couple of years in a row one of my yahoo groups did formica chip ornie exchange for xmas. I was thinking it over and they are just the right place for your inchies. With the Formica chip you can make an ornament or a fob for a key chain or ring or a dangle for blackberry, ipod or cell phone. You can get bookmark blanks and put a bunch of the inchies on the front and/or back in a theme would be nice. One thing I am doing is those stickers have a card inside so the store can hang them with would be perfect to alter then apply inchies. They're are long and thin already have a hole for fibres to be added. Small note books could be albums for them I have a couple and some ideas for them. You can make fabric ones and do a miniature quilt.....yikes I better stop now before I get carried away.

I was sitting in the sun and got thinking things through. Also went through embellishments sticker etc and have put the tiny ones aside for inchies.

I think I might have to do a 12 step program......lol as I spent the afternoon doing these little things. I did a double blue with a Woof brad 2 hearts and the initials of two doggies I know. This is for a friend...I redid the kitty on pink as the kitty in question is a boy and thought he should have a blue background I bought the greatest punches for 1" and a scalloped edge one 15/16" they look so good together.

I didn't get the swaps mailed as I was busy doing this and didn't have the energy to go to and mail them and the inchies.

Inchies have come to our ATC swap group and I was having fun tonight these are some I have finished. The Scottie and the sheep I will be adding some more to. I found I have about 7 small punches and a bunch of tiny rubber stamps and a couple of alphabet stamps tiny enough for an inch by inch format. I went to a store on Bloor West and found a 1"square punch and a 15/16" square scalloped edge punch. So I was punching stamping and cutting up a storm. Had so much fun.

This is my newest ATC it's Called Refelections for March. Things did not go well for me in March so I am really late in send my Swap. I spent St. Patrick's day in the hospital with pneumonia.

Not too happy with it but this is what it is. That oval in the middle is a mirror when you scan mirrors they come out black so I tried a few things in Adobe and this is a lens fare.

I have a few more things to do for this and next month.

This is my ATC for April it is to be stained glass or outline. This is done digitally in Adobe and texture noise and clouds were introduced into the mix. I have been neglectful again with this blog. I am going to cut down in my memberships in tagger snagger groups so I have more art time on the computer.

I was a rippin' and a snippin' again and have come up with a new thing for ATC and/or canvas. Will try it out and see how it looks. Veranda is a great mag for ideas for art not that I mean copy but putting colours together etc. It also has that sumptuous look Victoria used to have in its heyday

I will post more when I have the ReflectionS swap done.

This ATC was done for the outline of leaves wasn't very Happy with it but it looks nice.

Finish Fall swap

This is the finished ATC for my Images of fall swap. I have Twinkling H 2O's for a background Fall from a magazine on another piece of light card stock. The maple leaves are ones I scanned years ago and made tiny for ATCs It doesn't show up well in the scan but there is a sweet foamie in the shape of a black cat with sparkles on it. The words are from magazines and a sheet I purchase and the Jack o Lantern is from a cellophane Trick or Treat bag. I will be posting pics of some ornaments I learned how to make later on in October.

Oh no I have found out about Geo Deco Thingies. Done with left over scraps and all kinds of stuff. I just got into inchies. Now something new to play with lol I have them corralled for the moment in a coin saver that coin collectors use. Here is a very well done tut on Geo Deco Thingies by Zeborah Loray I think I really would love to done one of these. The more I learn the more I find out I have to learn. That's what makes life exciting for me. You never know what is around any corner.

Faces swap.

This is my ATC for Faces. I sort of did a silk screen images of me liken to Andy Warhol. I made 4 different ones in the Inchies format. I tried different things filters in adobe to obtain the images. I will be sending it out tomorrow.

I got plenty of inspiration for doing new things as I went through organizing and sorting my stuff. Can't wait to start.

The above kitty is the one I received this yearfor my birthday from DH . It is a vignette style done in Adobe Photoshop. I love noodling around with all the filters and things. This is done as poster edges. a pic of my bunny my first garden sculpture. He orginally took you on a tour of the garden. I have added on my own and others have given me the cutest things for the garden.

I will be adding more of these to my blog as time goes by.

I really had fun silk screening with adobe.....lol I will be using a coin collector book to store them in These one's will be for a friend on a couple of groups that I belong to. She loves monkeys and it will be a great treat for me to send them to her. She will be getting some other surprises as well. Will post them after I have sent them.

I did this one for my friend who is coming over tomorrow. She is really a great gal and I have missed her. She has been travelling since last fall. Mostly in Las Vegas. I hope she likes it.

This morning I did some art in the way of doing a name tag for one of the ladies I was visiting today. She is a new member of our First Toronto Chapter and is 90+ young. She is very feisty for her age and lots of fun so is her lovely daughter.

Today I did some work on my next swap faces. I printed off some of the elements I will be using for it. The printer and I had words not very nice ones some time. I also printed some pics for a friend. She is a red hatter and it's one in her red hat. She is really pretty in the pic. She looks wonderful in the her red hats. She is a real Hat Lady and makes a perfect Queen Mother of our Chapter. I am going to do something with these pics for either cards or ATC s. The Hibiscus is really huge and so lovely. I really enjoy taking pics of the garden and other gardens. It's was one of my main hobbies at one time. I also would like to paint them as well. This winter when it's too cold to go outside.

I received this from a good friend in Oregon and I just love it.

She was making aPost Card from Camp with her stamping buddies. It is the regulation sized post card. I really liked the front and the back of it. I have some of the stamps by this person I was in Michaels when they were on for half price. So I had to buy some.

Today in going through my sorts I saw some really nice collage fodder for the future. I can't wait to finish and have everything in place. Working hard on it.

Thinking about the faces project today. I must get going on that.

and totally ignored this one sad to say. This was my lastest ATC I have done. It was call Day at the Beach. I also sent out this one as an extra for everybody. The ladies really enjoy it. I received some really nice thank you ones and some rak stuff. I am sorting and pitching to free up space and have a place for everything and everything thing in it's place. I really am enjoying the process this time around. I have a P touch labeler to label things to keep trace of it all.

Sunday I did a personal ATC of faces for me of the Afghan girl that was famous all over the world. She has haunted me ever since I saw her and I had run across a pull out from National Geographic and used those pics.

I can't believe it was August for my last post

but in and around Christmas I fell ill with a horrible stomach flu twice and didn't even have the energy to do my Christmas cars andearly this year I had hospital stay with aspiration pneumonia I swallowed a pill the wrong way. In the mean time I have a terrible time with my teeth and need them all removed. It is a long a somewhat painful procedure.

The corner is turned and finally Toronto weather is good.......it was just so pretty here in Toronto all weekend. I admired our back garden while reading in our Gazebo and listening and watching the birdies line up for a bath in our stream. The Cardinal family really enjoy the stream and lets everybody know by singing a happy song. The sparrows and finches play hide and seek in the drooping Japanese maple we have. :roll: Our squirrels are having a grand time digging in our planters to hide the black walnuts from a neighbours tree. scattering the plants and the soil here and there. So we have quite the Joys of Spring going on. It all helps to keep my mind off the sore mouth from the extracted teeth.

I have taken up knitting and having a grand time knitting scarves and face cloths for now. I finished a celery coloured scarf I was doing for my niece in BC.

Now I also have finished an ATC for spring this is it ATC is for Artist Trading Cards just like the hockey and baseball only you do an art piece and swap them with another artist. This was a spring swap.

So hopefully I can post more and have brand new choppers to smile :-)with. I have 7 more teeth to go.....yikes

Well I have been up to lots of stuff since last I posted. This is one of the things I have done for an ATC swap called Primary Colors. It is done with card stock on a playing card using blue, red and yellow. I sized the butterflies and coloured them. Then I did a transparency on the computer of the "Soar like the butterflies and reach for the heights". Cindy was done as a separate transparency they are held together with four yellow brads and a star button is fastened with threads in the primary colours. I hope my friend Cindy likes it. Will be adding more to the blog later this week. Had a lot of dental problems. So things went slowly......Yikes!! I have ventured further west in the city and been to another bead store on Ronsenvalles called the Bead Junction. I loved their display of bead as all the beads of the same colours are together.

I am working on some beaded projects and will post them when I finish. More later.....

I found that keeping up 2 Red Hat websites a bit to much for me to handle so I am no longer their webmistress for 2 of my Red Hat Chapters. I designed the logo's for each of the chapters and still do the name tags and other things for them.

of the flowers, veggies and herbs I had bought before, today. I love to garden as well as to do arts and crafts. So I am feeling pretty good about finishing off my planting.

This year I have a lot more herbs and have planted up some veggies; lettuces, spinach, beets for beet greens, peppers, tomatoes and some other things that are edible like flowers to include in salads. and just discussed my bead purchase with my Thursday group. I showed my friend who does the French Beaded Flowers and inspired me my new book. She really liked it. Bought some dragon flies from another gal. She did them in stained glass and beads she had purchased from garage sales they will look good in my garden. I have a red one and a blue one. I have been looking for addresses and websites for bead stores in Toronto there are a few that I haven't been to. I also I am on the prowl for a stained glass pattern for another friend who daughter's bought a lamp that needs a new shade.

I got this from a friend this morning........I was walking to the drug store today and look what I found on Eglinton.....right in my neighborhood!!!! A new Bead store......here's the link to their website: http://www.thebeadstore.ca/index.html The owner is very nice and would love to have us. (Us being our Red Hat group). I am going up on a "bead night" and see what it's like. She has a lovely selection of beads and is willing to order stuff if she doesn't have what you want.....

I looked at the site and she has lots of classes and a bead night WOW.....a new bead store.

Today my friend and I went on a Beading Safari

Today my friend and I went on a Beading Safari in the wilds of downtown Toronto. Queen West to be exact. Boy was it a scorcher for 2nd last day in May but we came prepared with sunglasses and hats and cool cottons. We stopped in at Bling Bling at Queen St. W. And Augusta. I found some lovely purples to make up necklaces for my Red Hat Chapter events and some little red and purple bags that were on sale for a quarter. The store was nice and cool and the staff is great and very helpful. Then we went next door to The Beadery where we checked out there beautiful selection of beads, lovely knitting yarns, and hand dyed ribbons. We found some perfect focal beads one just matching up with the necklace my friend wore for just that purpose. I found a purple one and a cobalt blue. Cobalt blue is one my favourite colours. I spied a French Beaded Flower book, French-Beaded Flowers New Millennium Collection by Dalene Kelly I just joined a group for beaded flowers and wanted some patterns to get started. From a quick look tonight it has so many of my favourite flowers. I can't wait to get started. We also browsed their bargain bins at the front of the store and I found some lovely stuff one being some pins for attatching charms, beads or chains, etc.

The Beadery also has a website http://www.thebeardery.ca They have lots of pics that have appeared in the media. Lots of tutorials to browse through and download as pfds.

We got tired and crossed the road and went in for an iced coffee at the Second Cup and talked about our purchases and enjoyed our coffees and a snack. My husband(chauffeur he says) I treated to an iced coffee and a snack for driving us down and back. While he enjoyed his coffee and a snack we went on to Artons one and two. We got lovely watch faces to make watches with beads. I have wanted to make a torsade necklace and found a lovely floral clasp for it. At Arton One I got some fish beads for a long time in finishing project. I love their prices and selection. I have been there so often they think I have a tax number but sadly I don't.

I took a quick look to Abelard Bookshop next door to Artons to see if they had a Brother's Grim fairy tale book but they didn't. I would love to alter one as an alterbook art piece. Just saw the movie and it was like a fairy tale the Brother Grimm the title very scary. After that we went back to Bling Blings to get some fancy silver head pins and some beads for crimps. We went back to the Second Cup. My husband, friend and I were happy to get into our a/c car and drive home.

I wanted to include the business cards for these stores because they are very nice and have given me so many hours of fun both at their stores and at home doing my projects or reading a book. I have no affiliations with them I just like them.

My Latest Attempt at Altered art

We did a swap of altered OJ lids it was fun but I was kind of worried because due to illness I hadn't really worked on to many art pieces for a long while. I call this one Z for Zinna This was collaged background and a fairy made from a pic I found in a magazine and I added the lettering I did in Adobe Photoshop.

This one is Hi there cute with an image tinted in Photoshop and embellishments added. It has a clip from a doily, tag I made in Photoshop a rose and a faux rhinestone. Around it all a glued string of faux pearls

This was my first ATC and I really didn't know what to do. I collaged and add lines and coloured pencil. It looks a bit lame now but at the time I was amazed how you could do something this small 2½" x 3½". I have particpated in a some swaps and belong to a few groups on the internet.
